Jalore Rajasthan India Tour

Jalore Rajasthan Tour Jalore was considered to be the capital of Chauhan Rajputs, dated back to 12th century. It is situated near the banks of river Sukri. As the place was captured by Allaudin Khilji during 1310 AD, this place has many stories untold. It revolves around stories of revenge, war and dominance of the rulers which are treasured in this fascinating land of Jalore. It was ruled by Pratihar Kings and the place was previously called by the name of 'Jabalipur'. Economically this place is beneficial for the people of and it also generates revenue due to fertile land. The place creates a perfect ambience which will mesmerize with its own rural charm. You will explore the several forts, temples and palaces which were built during the rule of the Parihar Kings.

The place covers with the area of about 10,649 sq km and the best time to tour Jalore is during the August to March.

Major Attractions :

Jalore Fort : It is the centre of attraction of this place which has been established during the 10th century. Popularly known as 'Sonagir' or Golden Mount, Jalore stands 1200 feet high with pillars and walls decorated with magnificent architectural décor. The beauty and the sculpture are unmatchable to any forts throughout the country. The fort consists of 9 castles which were built by the Parasmaras. This fort has four entrances and you may enter either through Siroh pol, Bal pol, Dhruv Pol & Suraj Pol.

The fort has been redefined as the residential palace after the downfall of the rulers during 12th century. Allaudin Khilji took over and re-established the Fort during 14th century.

The Jain Temples : The temple was established and constructed by Jalore's ruler during 1785 AD. The temple hall is used for performing rituals and has created a mandap. Among other temples we have Mahavira and Santinatha which are popular as one of the Jain temples. Also please note that "Adinath Temple" is one of the oldest temples among the above mentioned ones.

Mosque of Malik Shah : It is one of the mosques at Jalore Fort which was founded by Allaudin Khilji designed with Gujarati Architecture and decors. This Mohammedian mosque is well known for saint Malik shah who was an ardent devotee.

Sites at Jalore for excursion :

Bhinmal : It is an interesting Brahminical learning centre which was under the control of Jalore rulers.

Sanchore : This small town is located 145 km from Jalore and is cultural mix of both Shaivism and Jainism.
